A large number of nominations were filed at the offices of the Returning Officer for the Assembly Constituencies on Friday, the last day for filing of nominations. THANJAVUR: As many as 174 candidates filed 195 sets of nominations for the eight Assembly constituencies in the district. For the Tiruvidaimarudur constituency, 18 candidates have filed an equal number of nominations while 29 candidates have filed 31 papers for Kumbakonam, 28 candidates filed 30 papers for Papanasam, 16 candidates filed 19 nominations for Tiruvaiyaru and 23 candidates filed 25 papers for the Thanjavur seat.
